    Research Summary  
   

Dr. Cao's research focused on developing a new generation of ultrasmall nanoparticles probes, using infrared quantum dots, for molecular and cellular imaging applications.

He also worked on using dual optical and magnetic nanoparticles for the Detection of Circulating Tumor Cells (CTCs).
