Experienced organic and medicinal chemist with experience in the synthesis of biologically important molecules, good background in nanotechnology, biochemistry, protease inhibitors, carbohydrates and glyco-conjugates, natural product analogs, peptides and derivatives, solid-phase synthesis, organophosphorous chemistry, enzymatic reactions, drug discovery, drug delivery, and nanotechnology in cancer therapy with research interest in medicinally important chemistry for treatment of cancer, and use of nanotechnology in cancer therapy, both diagnosis of cancer and treatment of cancer.

Project: The design and synthesis of the epoxide derivatives of olefin isostere of g-glutamyl dipeptide from ethyl-2-oxocyclopentane carboxylate and their biological evaluation as inhibitors for the cysteine protease, g-glutamyl hydrolase (GH).  Key reactions: asymmetric epoxidation, Julia-Kocienski olefination, Grubb’s olefin metathesis, Chugaev reaction, Mitsunobu reaction, oxidations, enzymatic reactions catalyzed by Saccharomyces cerevisiae and Lipase from Pseudomonas fluorescens Wittig olefination.
